The Lithium Robot (part 11 of 12)

However, King Phillip II must have been looking out for him again, when out of nowhere a frail woman walked out from behind a nearby tree.
“Samuel!  Is that you?” asked the woman, who seemed to know the answer to the question.

[More:]

“What the?…Blanch!  Wow!” Phillip said with an uplifting tone “well, actually my name is Phillip now.”
“I thought I would find you here.  This was where you took me on our first date.”
Blanch was a 73 year-old retired widow who was now working at the public library.  Phillip had met her three months previous, and had her too eating out of the palm of his hand.  He was now able to checkout as many books from the library as he wanted, no limit.  Blanch also agreed to look the other way if he was late a couple days in returning his books.
“So I saw you walking with Betsy today…” Blanch said as Phillip looked petrified.
“But that is something we will talk about another day,” she continued “I know you are going through a lot right now, and I do not want to add more drama to your life.”
Phillip looked relieved, he felt the way King Phillip II must have felt when the European economy began to stabilize after the inflation of so many years.

“The library got a new book in today, I had ordered it for your birthday,” Blanch said with a slight smile. She gave him the book, and Phillip was elated when he saw the title: King Phillip II: What the World Didn’t Know.
“Take a look at page 53, huh.” And just like that Blanch gave him a wink as a slight tear fell down her beautiful wrinkled face.  She left the same way she came out, and Phillip knew that just may be the last time he would ever see her…with a sinking feeling he thought about paying the 10 cent library fine, and the maximum 10 book checkout…
Phillip quickly opened to page 53.  It was as if Blanch had known exactly what he was looking for, as right there in the middle of page 53 was none other than King Phillip II dancing, a picture of him doing the “Funky Chicken.”
Phillip’s heart began to beat fast as he read the paragraph next to the picture of the king.  It read: “Contrary to urban myth, King Phillip II loved to dance.  History has cited him for banning dancing in his country, when in fact it is the complete opposite.  He had banned the act of not dancing in his country.  If music were to be played, you were forced to dance.  He ruled with an iron fist, and those who refused to let lose, King Phillip would have them “let lose,” if you catch my drift.  It is a shame history has gotten to be so distorted.”
